Hi, my name is Margarit Muça. I'm a young painter and graphic designer born in Lushnje (Albania) 23 years ago but currently living in Italy. I started drawing when I was 10 helping a local craftsman ion his boutique. I always refuse to study arts the traditional way attending academies. I preferred a harder way. I studied languages in High school and now I study Philosophy in Bari. I expect to graduate this year.
In my worksI try to analize the real world and then to give it another face. I love Pop Art, the german Expressionism, the Dada and the italian New Naturalism. My work mix different cultures, just because I'm a mix of two different cultures too. I love mixing the italian style, harmony in shapes, Renaissance, and love the romantic sounds, colors, stories of Albania and Balkans.
In 2004 with some friends I founded a no profit organization, La Confraternita dell'Uva (The brotherhood of the Grape - from J. Fante's book), which aims to create a cultural revolution to south Italys youth. It aims to give different possibilities to young and indipendent artists, writers, musicians, film makers to spread their works.
I've made a lot of expsitions, especially in the medieval castle in my town Sannicandro di Bari (Bari). Currently I'm planning my first solo exibition, probably in Bari.
